Is Diane von Furstenberg the latest designer to think small? The designer namely reportedly moving amenable with a long-rumored accumulation for GapKids and Baby Gap, which insiders mention could bow for early as Spring 2012. (In appending to her cardinal collection of ready-to-wear and accessories, DVF too makes nice jewelry with H.Stern, recently debuted housewares beneath her own tag, and will return this fall to the scent globe with Diane, her 1st new scent in annuals.)

But von Furstenberg is merely the latest to take aboard the kiddie mart. Former GapKids collaborator Stella McCartney received such nice feedback from her children’s collection for the retailer namely she’s since built a junior collection under her own label. In the past year, several additional important houses have done the same. Gucci and Fendi either debuted childrenswear at the end of the day season’s Pitti Bimbo, chapter of the Pitti Immagine fairs. And earlier this month, Lanvin announced that it will return to its roots (builder Jeanne Lanvin devised mommy-and-me pieces) with a new kids’ range, launching in November.
